12.09.21 Osprey

A cooler morning, clear and mostly bright, some encroaching cloud cover at times, light SW wind.

There was some activity this morning, c20 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, 5 Blackcap, c12 Common Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler, 4 Whinchat, 1 Redstart, 5 Wheatear, c30 Yellow Wagtail, 6 Tree Pipit. c2000 hirundines, (80% House Martin, 19% Swallow, 1% Sand Martin also an albino/leucistic bird distantly) 4 Swift.

A skywatch was very productive from midday to 15.30hrs. 2 Osprey sightings (at 13:10 one went south over Birling Gap then watched flying out to sea until it was a speck followed by another sighting at 14:45 of a bird east over the pub) 3 Red Kite (inc 2 together), 1 Marsh Harrier, c12 Common Buzzard, 1 Hobby, c6 Kestrel, c10 Sparrowhawk.
