16.08.21 NW wind

The first morning backed with a NW wind which is set to remain until the weeks end. Perhaps this wind direction was the reason most of the birds were concentrated in the bushes from the radio mast to the old trapping area.

It was a varied bag which included, 25+ Willow Warbler, c25 Common Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Common Redstart, 1 Wheatear, the first Spotted Flycatcher of the season, 1 Tree Pipit over, 3 House Martin went west. Strange I have not had a Pied Flycatcher yet or even a fly over Yellow Wagtail!
