Full hibernation mode

Januarys weather has been mostly dull, often dominated by westerly depressions with a calmer, colder spell around the 18th.

I’ve done very little birding recently, work and the lack of potential on Beachy Head has left me feeling quite uninspired. I have ventured out on a few occasions locally, catching up with local Hawfinches and a group of Bearded Tits at West Rise being the highlights. Nearby Pevensey Levels has been devoid of Short eared Owls this year which often provide regular entertainment most winters.
