Weather’s still rubbish, jet stream dominated nonsense. I covered Belle Tout and Birling area late afternoon.
My first Chiffchaff on the head of 2019.
It’s this time of year when Chiffchaff’s are briefly beheld to the chest and celebrated… briefly. Today’s bird at Belle Tout Wood was the first I have seen here since early November and seeing as Beachy Head doesn’t host any wintering birds, I’m content this is a migrant. Very little else in there with it bar the regular small band of Blue & Great Tit, a pair of vocal Green Woodpecker and 3 Chaffinch.
Stonechat at Birling.
Very little else seen except 3 Stonechat, a Meadow Pipit and a Blackbird in song at Birling Gap.
