8th Nov 2015 – Late Wheatear & Woodpigeons

A very mild day, strong SW wind.

Some of the Woodpigeon on the move.

As November progresses Beachy Head is beginning to feel increasingly birdless. This mornings main avian notables were a late Wheatear on the road near Shooters and an overhead movement of c1500 Woodpigeon. The Peregrines were again quite animated at being gifted such an overwhelming number of pigeon to have a go at. Several large flocks of Woodpigeon split & sent into commotion by attacks from above. Other bits included 20 Goldcrest, a single Firecrest in Belle Tout, c30 Goldfinch (a whopping 1000+ noted the previous day) a few Redpoll over too.
