30th July 2015 – Ringing starts.

A clear morning with a light SW wind. Two unseasonal species today in the form of 2 Firecrest and a fly over Siskin. Otherwise it was standard late July fare. 3 Willow Warbler (including one in the nets) 3 Chiffchaff, 5 Blackcap, 1 Garden Warbler (remarkably my first this year!) and many Whitethroat.

Today also saw the nets open in Whitbread Hollow, the ringing continues almost daily (weather permitting) until mid-November.
