A quick look at the gull flock this afternoon. No Yellow-legs amongst c30 large gulls but three juv. Herring Gulls and a colour ringed Great-black backed Gull. It should be straight forward to get some history on this bird via the Euring website. The area has a good turn over of gulls coming to the fresh water but with low tide currently at 3pm and the weather warm, it gets a lot of disturbance from hikers, dog walkers etc. There were also 2 Mediterranean Gull on the shoreline.
Adult Great black-backed Gull ONN8.
It will be interesting to learn the history of this bird. I suspect it maybe part of an ongoing project in the breeding colonies of Guernsey.
Adult Mediterranean and Black-headed Gulls.
